1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Refineo. By accessing or using our AI text humanization service ("Refineo", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Refineo, LLC. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Refineo is an AI-powered text humanization platform that transforms AI-generated content into natural, human-like writing. Our service includes:

• AI text humanization and refinement
• Multiple humanization models (Quality, Balance, Enhanced)
• Usage tracking and history
• Tiered subscription plans (Free, Basic, Pro, Ultra)
• AI detection analysis tools

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time without prior notice.

3. Account Registration and Security

Account Creation: To access certain features, you must create an account. You may register using:

• Email and password
• Google OAuth authentication

Account Security: You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

Email Verification: Paid subscription features require email verification. Unverified accounts are limited to free tier features.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Subscription Tiers

• Free: 3 requests per month, 500 words per request
• Basic: 80 requests per month, 1,500 words per request
• Pro: 200 requests per month, 3,000 words per request
• Ultra: Unlimited requests (100 per hour), 5,000 words per request

4.2 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method:

• At the start of each billing period
• For any applicable taxes or fees
• Until you cancel your subscription

4.3 Usage Limits

Monthly request limits reset at the start of each billing period. Unused requests do not roll over. Ultra tier rate limiting applies (100 requests per hour).

4.4 Refund Policy

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused requests. Exceptions may be made at our sole discretion for service outages or billing errors.

5. Payment Failures and Grace Period

If a payment fails:

• Your subscription enters a 7-day grace period
• You retain access to your tier's features during this period
• We will send reminder emails on days 1, 3, and 7
• After 7 days without payment, you will be downgraded to the Free tier

You can update your payment method at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Upon cancellation:

• Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
• You will not be charged for the next billing period
• You will be downgraded to the Free tier at period end
• Your request history is retained according to our data retention policy

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use Refineo for:

• Creating misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent content
• Violating intellectual property rights
• Generating spam, phishing, or malicious content
• Academic dishonesty or plagiarism
• Circumventing our usage limits through multiple accounts
• Reverse engineering or attempting to extract our algorithms
• Automated or bot-driven usage without authorization
• Any illegal or harmful activities

Violation of this policy may result in immediate account termination without refund.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Your Content

You retain all rights to the content you input into Refineo. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process your content to provide humanization services
• Store your content for your usage history
• Use anonymized data for service improvement

8.2 Our Technology

All technology, algorithms, software, and branding associated with Refineo are our exclusive property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Request History:

• Free tier: 90-day retention (automatically deleted after)
• Paid tiers: Unlimited retention while subscription is active

Account Deletion: You may request account deletion at any time. Upon deletion:

• All personal data is permanently removed within 30 days
• Active subscriptions are canceled
• Request history is permanently deleted

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 Service Disclaimer

Refineo is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• Specific results or outcomes from humanized content
• Bypass of all AI detection systems
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Suitability for any particular purpose

10.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Refineo SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA LOSS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Refineo, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit or generate using our service

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
2. Binding arbitration in Delaware if negotiation fails
3. Small claims court for disputes under $10,000

You waive the right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately without notice if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Fail to pay subscription fees
• Use the service in a manner harmful to our systems or other users

Upon termination, all licenses granted to you terminate immediately, and you must cease all use of the service.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via:

• Email to your registered email address
• Prominent notice on our website
• In-app notification

Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Refineo.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of future enforcement.

Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
